Shopper Safety

TheChessPiece ("we," "our" or "us") is committed to meeting your expectation that your online transactions with us will be protected with the same level of privacy and security as all of the other ways we interact with you. We are further committed to maintaining an understanding of the services and products you find to be most valuable.

TheChessPiece Security Statement
Protecting customer information is a priority for TheChessPiece. To guard your information, our website uses extended verification Secure Sockets Layer (EV SSL) encryption. SSL encrypts all the information you provide in your online application, including your name, address and credit information. With this encryption, only our Payment processor is allowed to decode your information. How do you know if an SSL connection is active and protecting your information in a secure manner? Simply look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser window after accessing a server. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (this is determined by your browser), the SSL is active and your information is secure. You can also double-check by looking at the URL line of your browser. When accessing a secure server, the first characters of the site address will change from 'http' to 'https' (the 's' stands for 'secure'). Some versions of browsers and some firewalls don't permit communication even though the server is secure. If, for some reason, you are unable to connect to our secure server, or if you prefer to apply or transact by phone, please call us on 352 304 5340.. THE ABOVE STATEMENT APPLIES TO INFORMATION TRANSMITTED TO US USING THIS WEBSITE.

Protecting Your Personal Information
Recently, identity thieves have been sending phony e-mail messages to trick customers into divulging personal or financial information (a practice known as "phishing"). Many of these e-mails feature company logos and language. Some of these e-mails even go as far as showing exact copies of company website pages. These e-mails and websites attempt to trick people into providing personal information such as: log-on IDs, passwords, credit card numbers, bank account information, Social Security Numbers, and other sensitive information. THECHESSPIECE DOES NOT REQUEST PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM CUSTOMERS VIA E-MAIL. PLEASE NOTE THAT E-MAIL IS NOT ENCRYPTED AND IS NOT CONSIDERED A SECURE MEANS OF TRANSMITTING PERSONAL INFORMATION. If you have received or entered personal information in response to a suspicious e-mail, pop-up or phony website claiming to be affiliated with TheChessPiece, please call us at 352 304 5340 immediately.
